51+ Easy Gluten-Free Breakfast Recipes and Ideas

Are you looking for a list of easy gluten-free breakfast recipes and ideas? If so, I’ve got you covered with my list of 51+ gluten-free breakfast recipes and ideas that will please all palates – from savory egg dishes to sweet smoothie bowls. This post contains affiliate links. Please see my disclosures.

The morning sets the tone for your entire day, and I believe a good breakfast can give you the energy you need to be your best and most productive self, at least until lunch. Breakfast is, arguably, the most important meal of the day.

That said, preparing breakfast takes effort, especially if you don’t want to rely on cold cereal, which does little to nourish your body and give you the fuel you need to get through your day.

One of the challenges that comes with having celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, or gluten intolerance is coming up with delicious and easy gluten-free breakfast ideas.

Gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye, barley, and sometimes oats, is found in many of your favorite breakfast foods – from cereal and toast to oatmeal and quiche.

In this article, I share a list of gluten-free breakfast foods, recipes, and ideas you can enjoy for quick weekday breakfasts or elevated weekend brunches.

My list includes delicious savory and sweet breads, homemade bagels, egg dishes, muffins, smoothies, and more. When buying ingredients, always check for the gluten-free label. For more information on label reading, read What Gluten-Free Labeling Laws and Certifications Really Mean.

(1) Protein-Rich Vegetable Quinoa Egg Muffins

Need a great make-ahead gluten-free breakfast? My Vegetable Quinoa Egg Muffins recipe is the perfect make-ahead breakfast that everyone loves. Each muffin is loaded with tasty vegetables, protein-rich quinoa, and beautiful eggs for a savory, filling on-the-go breakfast.

(2) Avocado Toast

A lightly toasted gluten-free bread with a smear of avocado on top and a sprinkle of Everything Bagel seasoning makes for a fast and nutritious breakfast. I suggest using Canyon Bakehouse Ancient Grain bread, in the stay-fresh packaging, for the extra delicious canvas for your avocado schmear.

You could top your avocado toast with lox, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, microgreens, hemp seeds, or any goodies your heart desires.

(3) Quick Gluten-Free Bagels

Of course, you could buy bagels at the store, but you might also try your hand at making my 5-Ingredient Gluten-Free Bagels, which are made with Greek yogurt and flour and taste incredible right out of the oven.

Enjoy them toasted and topped with cream cheese, lox, or whatever you like to slather on your bagel.

5-ingredient homemade bagel

I also have a more advanced New York-style gluten-free bagel recipe, one that requires boiling and baking. It’s really chewy and crusty, but it does require a little more work in the kitchen.

(4) Almond Flour Bagels

If you’re following a grain-free diet in addition to being gluten-free, you might enjoy my homemade Almond Flour Bagels instead. Enjoy them with cream cheese, peanut butter, avocado spread, and/or lox for a classic savory breakfast.

(5) Gluten-Free Banana Bread

(23) Breakfast Quesadillas

I love a good breakfast quesadilla because it’s warm, filling, and oh-so-delicious.

To make one, scramble two eggs in a pan. Then add the eggs on top of a gluten-free tortilla, along with shredded cheese, fresh spinach, green chili, and other vegetables or seasonings of choice. Fold the tortilla in half and heat in a pan until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is toasted on the outside. You could also use a panini press if you want to see grill marks.

Watch me make my favorite breakfast quesadilla in this Instagram video. Read my article, Best Gluten-Free Tortillas and Wraps, for recommended brands.

If you’re a child of the 80s like me, chances are you grew up eating Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts for breakfast. While it’s not the healthiest of breakfasts, it is still part of many people’s breakfast routine.

You could purchase gluten-free pop-tarts at the store, including the Katz brand, which makes the best gluten-free pop-tarts on the market, or you could try making your own.
