I talk a TON about green juicing on Good For You Gluten Free. In fact, I attribute juicing to helping me accelerate the healing of my gut after a devastating celiac disease diagnosis. (You can read more about how I healed my body from the damages caused by celiac disease in this article.)

So today I want to share with you one of my absolute favorite green smoothie recipes.

This is not a juice, rather it’s a blended beverage with mostly vegetables and a few pieces of fruit for sweetness.

All you have to do is add celery, spinach, frozen pineapple, water and a dash of both sea salt and cayenne pepper to your blender and hit the blend button, baby!

Once finished, you can sip this juice until your heart’s content. You will physically feel healthy and better after you do – I promise!

Sea salt green smoothie 2

I enjoy drinking this sea salt green smoothie most in the summer (although it can be enjoyed year-round). It’s refreshing, a bit sweet, a bit salty and a bit spicy. It just tingles your tastebuds and cools you from the inside out.

I’ve actually received a lot of feedback on this recipe over the years. A lot of people told me that they love the simplicity of the ingredients – it contains a (1) green leafy vegetable (a must for for a green beverage) as well as (2) a juicy vegetable (celery gives a lot of juice) and (3) a sweet fruit (nothing beats a pineapple – trust me on this one).

Did you know that every time you drink a green juice, 99 percent of the nutrients are absorbed by your body almost immediately? On top of that, your digestive system doesn’t have to lift a finger to digest this sea salt green smoothie, thereby flooding your body with essential nutrients and healing you from the inside out. You can read more about the benefits of green juices in this article.

Oh, and don’t forget the cayenne pepper. Cayenne pepper not only adds a kick (making it taste yummy!) but also cayenne pepper has many health benefits including aiding in digestion and anti-cold and antifungal properties, to name a few.

I hope you enjoy my Sea Salt Green Smoothie as much as I do. I find myself making this recipe over and over again – truly!
