If you love peaches, then this recipe is your jam! I’ve created a super simple peach jam recipe using fresh peaches and all-natural ingredients. This recipe is sponsored by Crunchmaster and contains affiliate links. Please see my disclosures.
It’s peach season, and there’s no better time to enjoy this seasonal fruit than in July and August when peaches are sweet and juicy.
I always buy a case of peaches from the Boy Scouts during their summer fundraiser, so we’re stocked with fresh peaches and need to use them fast before they turn. I’ll use them in my delicious gluten-free peach cobbler and peach smoothies, and now I’m also using them to make a tasty peach jam.
I guess you can say I’m turning peaches into peach jam this year … and I’m putting together a tasty summer snack board to soak it all in.
Thank you to Crunchmaster Crackers for sponsoring this recipe. Crunchmaster makes crunchy gluten-free crackers that are baked, not fried, and made with rice, seeds, and better-for-you ingredients. And they’re always certified gluten-free by the GFCO.
Ingredients
Here’s what you’ll need for this super simple peach jam:
Peaches: You’ll need two lbs of fresh peaches, peeled and sliced. You can use frozen peaches, but you may want to defrost the peaches and drain the excess liquid. Results and cooking times may vary when using frozen peaches; that’s why I recommend using fresh peaches when possible.
Sugar: You’ll need between ½- ¾ cup white granulated sugar.
I made the peach jam with both ½ cup and ¾ cup granulated sugar. I preferred the ¾ cup when I paired the jam with cheese and crackers. However, I preferred the less sweet version (½ cup of sugar) when using the jam for a sandwich.
I recommend adding ½ cups of sugar, tasting it, and adding more to taste. Some peaches are much sweeter than others, so the amount of sugar you add may depend on the sweetness of the peach.
Brown Sugar: You’ll need ¼ cup of light brown sugar. The brown sugar will give the jam a deeper flavor and thickness.
Lemon Juice: You’ll need one tablespoon of lemon juice. It will help the jam set and add acidity to help preserve it. It also adds a light tartness to the jam so it’s not overly sweet.
Sides: To enjoy the peach jam, you’ll also need some Crunchmaster Multi-Grain Crackers, fresh fruits, meats, and cheeses. I love serving it on a charcuterie board in the summer. It’s colorful, beautiful, and feels summery.
Directions
To make the peach jam, add the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and lemon juice in a small pot. Stir until well combined.
Turn the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a boil.
Reduce the heat to medium-low and allow the peaches to simmer for 25 minutes, stirring frequently.
Allow the mixture to cool before adding the jam to mason jars. Place the jars in the fridge. The jam will fully set in 24-48 hours.
How to Enjoy Peach Jam
You can enjoy the peach jam in a number of ways:
(1) On a snack board with crackers, cheeses, meats, and fresh fruits. It’s beautiful on summer snack boards. You can find Crunchmaster crackers at your local grocery store or on Amazon.
(2) On a slice of gluten-free sandwich bread and a smear of peanut butter or sun butter.
(3) On top of ice cream. I recommend warming a few tablespoons of the peach jam in the microwave for a few seconds, then pour it over vanilla bean ice cream. Yum!
