Enjoy these spicy gluten-free chipotle turkey burgers with your favorite gluten-free hamburger bun. These burgers are cooked to perfection on your stove top and have just the right amount of satisfying spice.
Combine the turkey, garlic, chipotles, chili powder, salt, pepper and 1 tablespoon of the avocado oil in a large bowl. Mix well with your hands until the mixture is well combined. Form the mixture into 4 burger patties. (Use disposable gloves, if possible). Set aside.
Heat a large non-stick pan with 2 tablespoons of avocado oil over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, place the patties into the pan and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until each side is browned and the center cooked through.
Serve burgers with gluten-free hamburger buns (see notes for recommendations) and your favorite toppings.
Notes
I do not recommend grilling these burgers. Ground turkey is lean and does not contain a lot of fat. When you grill them, any remaining fat will drip off, leaving the turkey burgers dry. I recommend cooking them in a pan with a little oil to ensure they remain juicy.Trader Joe's and Canyon Bakehouse make gluten-free hamburgers buns I like.
