One simple word is enough to get me so darn excited these days. The word is PUMPKIN!
It’s no secret that I’m a lover of all things pumpkin. In the fall, I add pumpkin to everything I make. In addition to my favorite Thanksgiving dessert – pumpkin pie – I add canned pumpkin to cookies, cakes, muffins and even rice. One of my favorite recipes is my Gluten-Free Pumpkin Risotto.
I sure do love that orange, round winter squash!
That’s why when Sprouts Farmers Market asked me to take some of its “Sprouts” branded pumpkin goodies for a test drive, I didn’t hesitate one bit. This post is sponsored by Sprouts in celebration of all things pumpkin at Sprouts. In fact, pumpkin goodies are available starting TODAY at Sprouts. There’s no need to wait for fall to enjoy this wonderful gourd.
Sprouts sent me a bunch of gluten-free pumpkin goodies and a gift card in exchange for this #TalkPumpkintoMe post. And get ready, because I’m ready to talk pumpkin, oh yeah!
My box of delicious, Sprouts-branded gluten-free pumpkin products included:
- Organic Pumpkin Spiced Apple Cider
- Sea Salted Pumpkin Seed Tortilla Chips
- Pumpkin Pasta Sauce
- Pumpkin Pie Lip Balm
- Canned Pumpkin
- Pumpkin Spice Ground Coffee
- Maple Pumpkin Butter
These items are just a sampling of the amazing pumpkin finds in-store at Sprouts, and they’re only a tiny portion of the more than 2,000 different Sprouts private labeled products already available. Erin Miller, a spokesperson for Sprouts, says more innovate private labeled products are coming in 2017 too.
I sat at my desk, staring at the bright orange products calling my name. I wasn’t ready to write this post – but then the pumpkin forces had an agenda of their own. I HAD to dive in and try them right away. It could not wait. I am weak.
As I was sampling the goodies, I easily had two stand out favorites.
My first favorite is the Sprouts Pumpkin Pie Lip Balm. It’s made with beeswax, seed oil, fair trade cacao seed butter, vitamin E, rosemary and other certified organic ingredients. This lip balm smells like autumn. I couldn’t get enough of it. So I know lip balm is supposed to go on your lips, but I may have put a dab on my nose so I could soak in the delicious scent.
I am definitely someone who knows her lip balm as a lip balm addict. I slather lip balm on my lips all the time. I really really really enjoyed the Sprouts Pumpkin Pie Lip Balm. It smells incredible. I loved every spicy pumpkin whiff! It also feels smooth and moisturizing on my lips. I. So. Love. This!
My second favorite product in my pumpkin magic basket of goodies was the Sprouts Sea Salted Pumpkin Seed Tortilla Chips. You could literally see the roasted pumpkin seeds crushed into the chip! Each chip is sprinkled with a subtle hint of pumpkin seasoning, giving these chips two squashes up in my pumpkin rating system.
I dipped the Pumpkin Seed Tortilla Chips in the gooey and rich Sprouts Maple Pumpkin Butter. OMG! This is so good. You can serve the chips with the Maple Pumpkin Butter and you’ll have a real crowd pleasing appetizer on your hand. The only thing is it has a lot of sugar and is a little too sweet for me – but a few bites never hurt anyone, right?!?
I also tried the Organic Pumpkin Spiced Apple Cider. Whoa! This is one sweet and rich beverage! It had a buttery taste to it too. I liked it, but it was much too sweet for me to drink alone. Instead of drinking it straight-up, I am going to save it for my next dinner party and serve it with some added adult beverages in the mix. It will certainly make the perfect holiday cocktail!
I’m also looking forward to trying the Pumpkin Spice Ground Coffee for the holidays. I gave up caffeine last month so I don’t want to try it quite yet – but I know my guests will love it when I serve it (and I plan to take a sip when I brew up a pot on Thanksgiving).
And at last, a Sprout Gift Card Giveaway!
Sprouts generously gave me a $25 gift card to give away to one of my lucky readers who is ready to #TalkPumpkintoMe. Simply answer this pumpkin-themed question to unlock the entry form. I’m accepting entries through 11:45 pm on 9/20/16. Good luck!
