Last weekend I hosted another exciting Denver Blogger’s Club event at Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar. Bad Daddy’s sponsored the event, so I wanted to take the time to thank them for hosting us and write a post about them too because they certainly know how to do gluten-free and do it well.
As our club enjoyed learning about email marketing from Anita Edge of Denver Green Chili, we all happily chomped on some mighty fine badass burgers from Bad Daddy’s.
I got to try a delicious, juicy burger lettuce wrapped and topped with grilled onions, sliced tomatoes and gluten-free pesto sauce. I usually don’t eat an entire burger, but I ate every last bite of this one. It was really delicious and flavorful.
I learned that the gluten-free burgers are made only with salt and pepper because the Bad Daddy’s seasoning used on all burgers has gluten in it. If my burger was that yummy seasoned only with salt and pepper, I can only image how good the regular burgers taste – yum!
Oh, and it’s worth noting that all menu items are cooked up in-house, fresh and from scratch daily.
Amy Nedwell, the director of marketing, says hands down that the “create your own burger” menu item is the top ordered item off Bad Daddy’s menu. You can top your burger how you like it and I think there might be more than 100 ways to customize your burger.
Nedwell told me that Bad Daddy’s staff is trained on how to handle “celiac” requests and they do everything possible to minimize cross contamination (noting, of course, that Bad Daddy’s doesn’t have a dedicated gluten-free kitchen and therefore there is risk of cross contamination). I get it, but I do appreciate the effort and training. I’m happy to report that I felt completely fine after eating there and can’t wait to go back!
If you do go, note that you cannot eat the french fries (they are cooked in a shared fryer with gluten-y stuff). Instead, request sea salt Boulder Canyon potato chips and pickles to top off your meal. You can also request a gluten-free bun (Udi’s) or get your burger lettuce wrapped instead (best and most nutritious option).
Bad Daddy’s has nine locations in the Denver metro area (including the one I visited in Southglenn, which, by the way, has a beautiful rooftop dining area). Bad Daddy’s is owned by Good Times restaurants.
P.S. Be sure to read my friend Laura’s post about Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar and its loyalty program over at Mile High on the Cheap!
Disclosure: Bad Daddy’s Burger sponsored the Denver Bloggers Club and provided free food for our club.

Their GF, DF pesto was awesome and really added so much flavor! And their rooftop bar area was perfect for a meeting.
