I love sharing new gluten-free restaurants with you – and today is no different! I want to introduce you to The Rusty Bucket, a restaurant that offers classic American fare, a generous gluten-free menu and truly something for everyone.
I had the pleasure of eating at The Rusty Bucket in Westminster, Colorado during the last Denver Blogger’s Club event I hosted. While our club comes together monthly to socialize and learn, we also get to enjoy delicious food at a local restaurant that sponsors the event. The Rusty Bucket sponsored the event by providing a free sampling of its menu and private meeting space to our entire club.
At the Rusty Bucket, you can enjoy almost anything gluten-free (although don’t eat anything from the deep fryer due to cross contamination!). They even have a specific gluten-free menu – here is a snapshot:
During our event, we enjoyed sampling the Bucket O’ Shrimp seasoned generously with cajun spices and served in a bucket.
We also enjoyed Double Stacked Quesadillas (served with corn tortillas vs. flour). Mahi Mahi Tacos and a Hummus Plate served with vegetables vs. pita bread.
The rest of the club got to enjoy foods like fried chicken and waffles, fried pickles (a giant dill is the restaurant’s mascot) and other gluten-y things!
Sam Jacobson, the general manager, says that almost everything on the menu is made from-scratch in a special “bucket way.” The “bucket way” refers to the restaurants fierce passion for hospitality.
I enjoyed not only the food, but also the fun atmosphere. The restaurant is clean, modern and fun.
The Rusty Bucket is a chain restaurant out of Columbus, Ohio. There are 24 restaurants nationwide and it’s owned by Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, which also owns Ocean Prime in Denver and other restaurants across the country.
If you have kids, you can sign up for the Bucketeer Bookworms program. Once your child reads five books, they get a free kids meal at The Rusty Bucket. You can pick up a bookmark at the restaurant to track your child’s reading, then bring in the completed bookmark to enjoy a free kids meal on the house!
While I really enjoyed my food at The Rusty Bucket, Westminster is a bit far for me. Good news – Jacobson says another location will be opening near I-25 and Lincoln in Lone Tree, and that location is much closer to home. I can’t wait!
In addition to the delicious food and fun atmosphere, we enjoyed a learning session with Chuck Miller and Andrew Sober of The Market Element, a digital marketing agency here in Denver. They taught us how to make some simple changes to our on- and off-site SEO to improve our blog’s traffic. This presentation was incredibly useful! Thanks Chuck and Andrew!
