This post is inspired by my dear friend, Shayna, who has to cook and bake allergen free. Her children are not only gluten free, but also soy, egg, dairy and corn free. When her kids are craving something crunchy and/or sweet, she makes them a little treat using Enjoy Life Crunchy Flax cereal and Enjoy Life Mini (Chocolate) Chips.
Enjoy Life products are a life-saver to families who are living with multiple food allergies, as all its products are free from the top eight allergens (gluten/wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, eggs, dairy, corn, fish and shellfish). Products are also free from casein, potato, sesame and sulfites. All products are gluten free certified and safe for Celiacs and gluten sensitive diets.
Enjoy Life’s Crunchy Flax
While the product has a name that is less than appetizing, this cereal really tastes wonderful. It’s slightly sweet, has a great crunch to it, and satisfies that cereal or munchie craving we often get when gluten is a no-no in our lives. This cereal is loaded with fiber, protein and iron; each bite packs a huge nutritional punch. I don’t often eat cereal, so I use Crunchy Flax as a snack. There are so many things you can do with it, really! Add it atop your next ice cream sundae to add a crunchy topping that is as delicious as it is healthy, or you can mix some Crunchy Flax into your yogurt for a delightful crunch and health boost.
Now back to my friend Shayna who introduced me to Enjoy Life products – including the Crunchy Flax cereal and the Enjoy Life Mini Chips (semi-sweet chocolate chips). She made a tasty treat for our family by combining the Crunchy Flax cereal and the Mini Chips in a bowl. Swirled together, they become a satisfying dessert and offered just the sweet and chocolatey flavor changer I craved after a big meal.
Go ahead, swirl together your own concoction using the Crunchy Flax cereal as your starting point. The possibilities are endless! Add Crunchy Flax to a homemade trail mix, Chex mix, or make your own Rice Krispies Treats (sans Rice Krispies, of course) – you’ll probably call them Crunchy Flax Treats instead! Enjoy Life = Happy Snacking!
